CMiYC is my online name which I have used since the mid-1990s.  I came up with the name when using local BBSes.  It literally meant, good luck finding me since I wasn’t online as much as most people.  After typing it enough times as a tagline to BlueWave posts, I started shortening it to CMiYC.  Eventually, it stuck.

CMiYC Labs is my side-business for a variety of my hobby projects that eventually get sold.  My previous company name was “BlackChopper” but it is specific to the “UnitiBlue” USB adapter.  This company was a co-ownership.  We created a modular system that allowed easy attachment of older video game controllers to a PC.  Based on the Cypress EZ-USB controller, we went from idea to sellable product in 5 months.

The next major project I took on was entirely software related.  In late 2006 my brother introduced me to Geocaching.  At the time, I had an iMac G5 and no way to transfer Geocaching Coordinates to my GPS.  So, MacCaching was created to fill a gap.

In terms of hardware, I have worked on a few LED projects recently.  Initially I started creating an animated LED light box.  It was fun but somewhat complex to build.  To make things easier, I designed an easy to assemble, chain-able driver board based on the TLC5904.

P.S. If you were looking for a play or a movie or info on a certain movie star, you’ve come to the wrong place. I’ve had this domain since long before that particular person graced us with a sob-story about a sinking hunk of iron.
